Meet Hashbrown

Hashbrown is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel born on November 7, 2017. He is certified as a Pet Therapy Team member through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs and holds a Canine Good Citizen certification from the American Kennel Club. Hashbrown spends his days at Miller Elementary greeting students at arrival, listening to them read, and offering quiet companionship when they need comfort. Students love visiting Hashbrown for a hug, a chat, or simply a few peaceful moments together.

Hashbrown’s presence has made a remarkable difference at Miller — helping students arrive on time, lifting spirits, and creating connections that extend beyond the school walls. He even lives in the Miller neighborhood, so students often see him out on walks with his handler, Sandy.

Principal Cynthia Nickel says, “The connections our kids have made with Hashbrown and Sandy are inspiring. He’s become a true part of our school family.”
